Future Continuous

I. Functions:

Future Continuous can be used:

• To stress that an action will be happening around a point of time in the future.

Example: I will be playing tennis at 10am tomorrow.

What will you be doing when I arrive?

We RARELY use Future Continuous with:

• · Verbs of thinking and feeling: believe, dislike, hate, know, like, love, prefer, realise, recognize, remember, suppose, think (= believe), understand, want, wish

• · Verbs of the senses: appear (= seem), feel, look, smell, sound, taste

• · Others: agree, belong, disagree, need, owe, own, possess

II. Form:

+ Affirmative:

Subject + will be + V-ing

+ Negative:

Subject + will not be + V-ing

Shortened form: will not be = won't be

+ Question:

Will + Subject + be + V-ing
