Phrases such as along with, accompanied by, together with, as well as, in addition to, … can be used to announce a second subject. However, they do not affect the verb.

Example: The VIP, accompanied by two bodyguards, is entering the room.

The singer, together with the talented band, is performing the song beautifully.
